  • Enamel or stainless-steel pot with heat source OR large turkey roaster (with enamel insert) OR Electric Fry Daddy

  • Wide-mouth canning jars for 8-value dyeing and storing liquid dye solution. preferably with plastic lids

  • Electric kettle for boiling water to make dye solutions

  • Stainless steel or plastic tongs

  • .01 gram pocket jewelers scale for precision measuring of powdered dyes

  • paper cupcake liners to measure dyes on scale

  • Set of plastic or stainless steel measuring spoons for Citric Acid Crystals and Color Magic Crystals

  • Set of TOD dye spoons for 8-value dyeing

  • Set of long-handled ladle style stainless steel measuring spoons for liquid dye solution

  • Salt bath for cleaning measuring spoon while scooping powdered dyes (use only non-iodized salt)

  • Small whisk for stirring dye powders into solution

  • Large glass liquid measuring cup to hold dye solution

  • Latex gloves for handling powdered dyes

  • Heat resistant rubber gloves for handling hot water and wool

  • Mask/respirator to avoid inhalation of airborne powder

  • Apron

  • Citric Acid Crystals

  • Color Smart™ Crystals

  • Bleach spray

  • Paper towel and heavy duty foil

  • Wool fabric, yarn, or other animal fiber or nylon

  • A set of April DeConick Palette Dyes™
